Meet Nico: A Car Guard Who Jumped on the Tipped Boat

Charl’s Activation Day

A flood. A man stranded on his rooftop. A rowboat, a motorboat, a helicopter… all sent to save him. Each time, he waves them off: “No thanks, God will save me.” The water rises. He drowns. In Heaven, he asks God why He didn’t answer his prayers.

“I sent you a rowboat, a motorboat, and a helicopter,” God says. “What more did you expect?”

I think about this story every time I activate Tipped at a business. I show up offering a way for staff to triple their tip income: a rowboat, if you like. Some people grab it immediately. Others wave it off.

The Problem He Uncovered

When I activate Tipped, I meet two kinds of people:

  • The willing: curious, open, quick to see the upside.
  • The resistant: “It’s a scam.” “Cash is king.” Case closed, before I’ve finished a sentence.

Here’s the irony: the same people who refuse to try something new often go home complaining about the cost of living, waiting for someone else to fix it.

Before Tipped, I ran a coaching business, and I saw this pattern constantly. People who transformed their lives had a growth mindset, willing to learn, willing to be wrong. People who stayed stuck usually weren’t short on opportunity. They were short on openness.

That’s the real problem Tipped runs into on the ground: not the app, but the mindset standing in front of it.

How Tipped Solves It

This is where Nico comes in.

Nico is a car guard, hands weathered by the sun, years spent watching over other people’s cars for whatever cash came his way. When I first sat with him, he asked question after question, his hand trembling slightly as he wrote his name.

Then it clicked. Nico signed up for Tipped, and within weeks he was earning three times what he used to.

What won him over wasn’t just the app’s ease of use, it was the human side of it. A tech-support team that patiently answered every question. For Nico, Tipped wasn’t software. It was a way out.

That’s the whole point of Tipped: it doesn’t just modernise tipping, it puts real money back in the hands of people like Nico… reliably, transparently, and with support that actually shows up.

Conclusion

There will always be copycat apps chasing what works. Do your homework, and choose the real thing.

More businesses are recognising Tipped’s value every day and people like Nico are proof of why.

So here’s the question: when the boat drifts by, will you take the hand reaching out?

Tipped is here!
